Total Productivity is the ideal method to position our firm’s workforce at the heart of continuous improvement.
A shop floor level method contributing to continuous improvement.
Based on simple principles, Total Productivity (TP) allows everybody, particularly those at shop floor level, to improve their working environment. These improvements relate to quality and productivity, but also to working conditions, environmental conservation (e.g. selective sorting), safety, maintenance, etc.
The following are integral parts of TP management :
- 5S (in Japanese : seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, shitsuke ; roughly translated : sift, sort, sweep, sustain, self-discipline)
- WSI (Work Self Improvement = improvement of a work station by its own operator)
- Visual Management
The principle is to give a visual aspect to everything that can be seen. Particularly suitable for stock control, but applicable to many other fields (quality, environment, safety) - TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is the application of Total Productivity principles to maintenance.
Its goal is to make users aware of their responsibilities for the means of production and the upkeep and improvement of their equipment.
Organisation
- TP secretaries and co-coordinators
An organising committee in charge of promoting and organising regular shop floor visits. Improvement ideas that have been put in place are presented to the committee.
The sharing of experience is a privileged method used by our teams :
- To continuously evaluate our firm’s performance according to best practices.
- To exploit customer feedback about our performance.
- To develop a spirit of initiative by comparing our experiences.
